View Full Version : messing around at school

so anyways my school is pretty much lacking in security around there network so i decided to fuck with them. we have teachers assistants (spelling?) that do the rollcall and grades on the teachers main computer which has no restrictions on it. the grade book works on a server called aries.net and the teacher usually puts in the password, so relizing it has no restrictions i asked to be TA, next day I had a flash drive with a keylogger, installed, hid the files, and let it do its work. so now i had access to the grade book. which i used occasionally to up my grade by 2 or 3 points but nothing BIG, but no, this wasnt good enough for me. the next week i installed a remote desktop link which i used 1 month later.
i was done being a TA and some other person was it now so anything i did to his computer i wouldnt be help accountable. school was end of the year and just as a dick move I replaced his background with a bunch of penises and said hi from (list of students names including the current TA) and i had a batch file that deleted the keylogger and all its files, deleted the systems files (thank you from those showing off ur batch files), and any trace i left. Just so i know he would run it, I made a shortcut that linked to the batch file that i hid and made the icon of My Computer.... it ran, all was good.

hahaha!!
I got busted just today, before some lame pep-rally (A.K.A. pep-assembly).
The school network at the high school I just started at this year, is lacking security, very badly... So I started on it, but I stopped that same day, and never got around to picking up on it again... That was on the first day of school... almost a full 3 weeks later, one of the administrators finally found the hidden files.
I didn't even get in any trouble over it, but just how long it took them to realize what was going on, was terribly pathetic. XD

October 3rd, 2008, 06:51 PM
my school security is REALLY high
i found out how to view all of the teachers account names and in 30 seconds my comp was logged off then shut down
later i found out all of the library files where shared but invisible
i started to edit the home page right before i saved the principal walked into the class and just stood by me
at the end of the year i found out they have a program where they view everyones screens to stop people from doing stuff like that
you guys are lucky
Palm3R
October 3rd, 2008, 11:12 PM
Yeah, most schools have a thing where they can view everyone's monitors from a separate building or room... every school I've been to has it, but they just suck, and there is so many ways to get around it.
I can also use LiveCDs on the school computers, but someone stole mine, and I have nowhere else to make a new liveCD (since I am typing this on a liveCD in the first place, occupying the only CD-ROM disk slot).

October 4th, 2008, 12:46 AM
haha that sucks my teacher was always on my ass tho
he moved my computer so as he worked he could see my monitor perfectly
Palm3R
October 6th, 2008, 03:08 PM
lol, that's even worse. Well now, apparently they are watching me most of the time now, so all I can do is use search engines, spreadsheets, or other class related things. Either that or checking my grades.
That reminds me of another time, where at my old school, someone went on porn when I left the room, and it was still logged on my username... They had a program where they can watch your screen, and I ended up losing my 'computer privileges' for good. XD

good stories guys, especially the opening one.
if i were as good at computers as you guys, i'd try some shit like this. :D
though last year our security was totally lax, this year my school switched severs onto the district's instead of our personal one and now everything's like totally strict.
though you can log on as support and have full access to everything XD

yah but just cause the site isn't blocked at his school, doesn't mean it isn't blocked at other schools, at my school EVERY proxy is blocked, i have tried thousands
I call bullshit on this, merely because it would be impossible for every proxy to be blocked. Maybe you were exaggerating the situation... maybe not; who knows.
If you want a reliable proxy that is fairly secure, setup an SSH Tunnel to your home computer and use that. Most school sysadmins won't be able to sniff it, and it's easy to setup:
http://everythinghurts.com/ssh-tunnelling/
EDIT: the tut seems to be for mac only, but im sure you can figure out how to port it to windows.
twenglish1
January 18th, 2009, 03:11 PM
yah i was exaggerating but still we have yet to find a proxy site that isn't blocked, and we have tried alot, and i just read through that tutorial and i think that it is only for mac
ishkur88
January 18th, 2009, 03:19 PM
Like i said in the edit, you can make it work for any system.. the only part that's Mac specific is the part where you enable SSH. Since Mac is UNIX based, it has OpenSSH built into it; but you can do almost the same thing on Windows...
http://sshwindows.sourceforge.net/
That should work.

you gotta watch what you do when ur trying proxies, the school systems around here are getting smart and are searching for text strings, such as tunnel, prxy stealth, i know they are i cant even google proxy over at my school since it sees that text string, i usually space it so its p r o x y

If you have a tunnel already setup, its really rather hard to block.. if only because it outwardly appears as an HTTPS connection. If they caught you using it and knew what to do, they could block that host.... but its not very hard to get around that either.
Another thing you could look into, that I don't really endorse, is Privoxy/Tor.

Twenglish, the kid was right in all fairness, or at least partially. Most schools running IE7 or IE6/WIN with Websense haven't been able to block https://www.pagemod.com because of the fake certificate.

lol i also hacked my school with a group of friends. We used a program that made all the other computers on the network send all password for users/websites that they type in go via our computer to the server and this program collects all the passwords and usernames for there account and password. After about 5 minutes of letting it do it's thing we got around 20 peoples passwords including mostly teachers and the school administartor :O
So we played around with it then relized that we can remote from home and do it all from home, get into his emails (which we found some pritty personal stuff) and just heaps of other shit on the network like that the teachers have a differant proxy to all the students that has faster internet access then the students (which we thought was pritty cheap) so we could make users and put them in those groups and shit so we can pritty much do anything on the school network from changing report/grades to viewing ANY details and changing school site around (and more)

Erm, to shorten up the long-ass post you made: It's called ARP Poisoning. Any random noob with a computer can do it.
Why is it that no one here can do any actual hacking? Has anyone here(exlcluding ishy) actually ever hacked into a real-live website?
I defaced http://www.precious-pets-paradise.com/ index page just a little bit ago by using directory traversal & the sitemap generator. Anyone here done any actual hacking lately?
the teachers have a differant proxy to all the students that has faster internet access then the students
Umm, so can you tell me why the fuck you're saying that the teachers are using a 'proxy' in the first place? And saying that they are using a different proxy implies that you think the students are using a 'proxy' when normally browsing around....Yeah, that's called a filter, genius. And I highly doubt that the teachers have a faster connection, more likely is that the techies allocated more bandwith for staff usage so the students couldn't take it all up by downloading things, playing games, or streaming anything.
And sinc you seem to know little-to-nothing computer related, I'm going to assume you are either a) Taking credit for something someone else did, b) Making this shit up, or c) You found a book called ARP poisoning for Absolute Idiots

lol twisted... why the fuck would i know why the teachers use a proxy? not my problem and i honestly dont give a fuck about it... but it still dont change that fact that at my school they do... so fuck up. Ohh and yea it is faster/differant internet plan because we did speedtest.net and differant ISP and differant speed.... im not a dipshit and dont make up bullshit so get fucked. Ohh and btw... me and my friends found this out and yea it is ARP poising and no it wasnt a book and yes "I" didnt figure out how to do it but my mate did... so yah... ur pritty much wrong.... but ill show ya with the screenies (any try to show u proxy with differant speeds on the weekend when i can be screwed)
Twisted420
February 18th, 2009, 02:33 AM
Umm, so just because something had a different speed, it had to be a different connection? It isn't at all possible that the different bandwith allocations could have anything at all to do with that? Hmm, well, looks like you've shown me!
And just for fun, I think you're an idiot, and would you be so kind as to give me the url to your myspace page?

We have the worst security on computers in our school, but to the administrator it's the best. We have a full on internet blocker, can't go onto any sites basically, we have restricted saving file sizes, restricted types of files we can save, and all the computers are plain old slow anyway. Theres no point in school security being that tight for my school because of the rate of how long it takes to just load up.

you got around 100KM off but that makes me laugh how much an IP can do.... and BTW when u say DOS the IP address you mean like flooding packets right? I know you can get programs that do that but can u do it in Command Prompt?
Twisted420
February 18th, 2009, 11:27 AM
Errm, lmfao.
1)How did I get off the quantity of 100 Kilometers?
2) Once again, you're an idiot, I haven't DoS'd your IP, so what the hell are you talking about?
3) There are plenty of others way to do DoS attacks(As just saying "DoS" is very, very vague.) than just to flood you with packets.
4) I would either use a tool or quickly write a C or PHP program that would do the work for me. I would have it use a threaded connection and route it through a bunch of different servers (Free web hosting servers) and then the added bandwith would easily kill your insignificant connection.
And If I were you I wouldn't make any more stupid accusations like you got around 100KM off but that makes me laugh how much an IP can do or you actually will make me angry. I'd advise dropping the subject.

Strictly speaking, a DoS would more refer to a flaw in the underlying application or operating system that would allow an attacker (or even a naturally occurring event) to prevent convenient access to a computer system.
Example being a flaw in a POP3 server that gets stuck in an infinite loop when sending emails with attachments larger than 100Mb. That would cause the entire mail queue to be hosed, thus... DoSing the mail service.
If the DoS is caused by a flood of connections, that would typically be called a DDoS; simply because one machine is rarely enough to take out another one by itself. More machines, typically in the order of hundreds or thousands (or even hundreds of thousands 0_o) are used in such an attack.
And if he really wanted to fuck you up, a DoS would be the least of your worries. Given an IP and sufficient vulnerability in your network, some very interesting things could be done.
You don't have to leave the boards, but please don't be an idiot anymore.

could it be a keylogger. because all u need to do is get a teachers password and then logon and disable the monitoring process
Twisted420
April 12th, 2009, 05:22 PM
Or you could inject some random code into the memory the process is using. Then you don't need the teacher's password.

Similar story, a teacher left the main ***** password to the entire school's website etc.. etc.. So me and a friend got in to it and changed the entire website just added funny things to it e.g. changing the cafeteria page to prison food and stuff. In the end there was a huge investigation and they basically questioned our entire year. So the head of year knew I did shit like this and she asked me "I've asked everyone now but I have suspicion it might be you, In my opinion it was hilarious!"
Don't ask why but I owned up to it then Deputy-Principal came and said "do you know anything about this?" and I said "It was me!" so then he took me to the principal who threatened to contact my ISP and have my internet cut off, said he was taking me to court and sueing me for $12,000 damages to his business and wanted to speak to my parents.
NOTHING HAPPEND...lol and it was the best thing I've ever owned up to. Everyone in school thought it was hilarious. I did it on last day of High School too so basically it was a leaving present. I've been renouned for it ever since.

The school security is never high. Because of computer standardization in our schools, I have managed to raise my grade a lot without getting caught. All I did was slip in a keylogger through blackboard to my teachers, found out their passwords, sent a batch file to delete it, and then raised my assignments one or two points a day for the rest of the year. Stupid Teachers.

Do it again, if your announcements run the same way as my old school's did (through a powerpoint loop that went on through out the day, which was changed every morning).
Change something on it. Try something subtle, something subtle that will piss people off; like, change the lunch to say there is something really good when there is something really shitty that day.
... Just to see if it will work. XD

Alright, well, at least you apologised for lying. Even so, you are still lying about having a cop watch you for this. Local cops do not know shit about computers (very rarely anyway), in which case the cop would have no business watching you. You say you changed your principals password using the command prompt, I also do not believe that. The only viable thing you have said was copying logoff.exe to your principals startup folder, which would be a fun thing to do. It's too bad you didn't change the registry key to allow it to run in safe-mode as well. He'd have had a good time with, I'm sure.
Anyway, I've got a little respect for you simply because you did admit the obvious, that you had lied. Not many people would do that, so way to go.
If you want to sound badass, be badass. Learn, and don't stop. just teach yourself everything about computers, be a sponge.

At least, when you lie, don't make it so damn obvious! Everyone and their uncle could tell you were making shit up. xD
Twisted nice response :)

Haha. What I meant was that was to absorb knowledge. "Absorb" being my reference to a sponge.

I love reading this stuff! And even though this is really basic stuff I did, I had gotten on my friend's computer once and placed a string of code at the end of the startup sequence that would initiate the shutdown sequence. So every time he started up his computer, it would begin to shut down immediately XD Again, I know it's really basic crap, but I thought it was something pretty funny. Btw, to anyone who happens to know what a smartboard is, is that something that could be easily hacked?

I never did anything bad in school.
All I did was make a netsending program which could mask the sender ID, still traceable but the network ***** was a moron and couldn't figure out how.

I don't know if this counts for school hacking but, I keylogged my Computer Apps teachers information and then used it to get access to the whole network, since he is 1 of the top administrators, and got everybody's lunch # so I didn't have to pay for my lunch for the whole year :P but they found out that 'somebody' did it and they cleaned up the security.
Even though I have the login information to my school's website :P And I can edit it anytime.

Yeah I realize that, but, I'm pro and won't get caught unless one of you guy's decide to white knight me ( snitch ) and get me caught, which in my opinion would be pretty damn gay.
