anways what do you think about:
1) is it possible to prove whether or not we exist
2) if the universe were expanding at the speed of light, and we couldn't beat that speed, would it be possible to tell whether or not the universe was infinite?
3) Is it possible there is no perfect government?

1. i really doubt it, because how would we know for sure
2. what would stop the universe from ending? therefor making it inifinite
3. i think the government can be perfect(very unlikely) but the people running it will not

If we don't exist then nothing exists. This computer and this message doesnt exist, your not reading it, and i never typed this. If you can read this, that means that you exist, I exist, both of our computers exist, this message exists, and the internet exists. So yeah we exist.
The universe in infinite to us. Maybe not to some insano-uber race that can travel at like a quintillion light years per billisecond, but we cant. As long as we cant see the end of the universe and prove that its not infinite, its infinite.
And I thought of this on governments a few days ago. They all seem perfect or else a country wouldn't use it, but they need maintenance, repair, and after a while, it simply doesn't work anymore and you need to get a new one. That's pretty much my thoughts on everything and its probably gonna be completely different next time i think about shit.

it is impossible for anything other than light to go the speed of light
we could one day get incredibly close
but in order to go up a 1/1000000000 of a percent once you get close takes more energy then there is in the whole galaxy
so we will never reach the end

there are theoretical particles that travel faster than light, as well as it is theoretically possible to travel faster than light, we have done so in other mediums such as water. We do not know for sure the exact limit of velocity, which we do know is relative to mass though.
Answers to the question.
1 No, You can be my dream and I could be your dream. We could all be the dream or imagination of someone else. We could be a character in a book and not know it.
2 If you are going with 3e8ms-1 being the limit of velocity then it can not expand at the speed of light. 99.999999999% yes not not 100%.
3 There is no perfect government because there is not perfect person that lives perfectly for ever. The best would be that which was suggested in the old classic The Day the Earth Stood Still, and they are doing a remake, which is that robots control the government because they are not subjective.

The stuff about where the universe ends won't be proven in our lifetime (i dont think it will at least) and it probably isnt infinite, but we cant even move a probe as fast as the universe expands, so even if we do make up for the trillion year head start the universe has on us, we will never be able to catch up to the border of it if it expands at the speed of light.
Im basing my knowledge mostly on what other people said on this forum though because i just dont feel like researching it past wikipedia so we can be wrong. I combine what ive learned with what i realize when i think about shit the night before.
Theres just too many theories and shit and not enough proof. Chances are they are all wrong. We cant even predict the damn weather for fucks sake, and people think they know shit about the universe. I hate it that whenever i think about this shit I always get that thought that I dont really know shit and this is all most likely wrong, but either way, I have nothing better to do and its always better to think ure right than to know ure wrong. And yeah when i rant I spell things wrong near the end because i just cant give a fuck right now.
Pretty much what im saying is....well i dont fukin know im gonna have to look at this tomorrow.

how could the universe not be infinite?
if it was just black what would stop it? nothing
so even darkness for ever still counts as an inifinite universe

There are three theories to the universe. Open, Flat, and Closed.
Open: This is where the universe is infinitive and ever expanding. The rate of expansion slows down but at a very slow rate. (This probably the most common belief)
Flat: The universe is infinite and ever expanding but it slows down at a faster rate then Open but has a limit of 0, meaning that its rate will reach infinitely near 0 but never to it. (This is what most scientists believe in, dealing with mathematical charts graphing the universe upon its expansion)
Closed: This is where the universe expands to a certain rate then collapses upon itself. It collapses into a singularity, like a black hole but obviously much more massive, then there is another big bang. (From what it seems this is the favor of Numerator)
Personally I believe in the flat. It makes the most sense being that the universe slows down such as a ball will slow down if you roll it.
Note: Open and flat do not reach a point though they both have a limit of 0. Open will be much larger by the time its expansion nears 0 than the flat would.

To get back on topic:
1. There's two differing opinions on this. John Locke stated that your senses are your only proof that other things exist. This would tell of an objective truth that is the same for everyone. Since I'm seeing the post you've made, I can be sure that you exist.
However, Des Cartes said that, since your senses can lie to you, reason is the only way you can be sure. He said that the only thing that I can be sure of is that I am a thinking thing. From there, I must use that fact to base all other assumptions off of. According to him, I cannot be sure that you exist. I can only be sure that I exist.
2. I really don't care. It doesn't concern me.
3. There is no such thing as the perfect government, other than the one that molds to its peoples' wishes. Since people are different, that cannot be accomplished.

1)Congnito what is that a cross between mass and machiavelli?
2)The whole discussion of open flat or closed was on topic
3) it is impossible to tell if you exist. I would like to believe that I exist and that I live in reality but I accept the fact that this may be a dream, whether mine or that of someone else. We could all be the fictional characters in a book "living" through the imagination of the writer, a movie, a play, or anything else. You are just as likely to prove that you exist as you are that god exists. It just doesn't work. The only difference between this and god is that when you die you will know if there is a god. Where you still will not know if you exist because you can dream, as well as others, of an afterlife, in which you could be in.
By no means can one know that they exist. Accept that.
QUESTION ANSWERED and FINISHED.

Lol that question is never gonna be answered or finished as long as im here to argue it.
If we are in someone's imagination, that is our universe. To us, everything in that imagination exists. If this universe doesn't exist, then the word "exist" is just a useless pattern of markings that mean nothing. I think that anything that is made up of matter or able to be comprehended by our brain exists.

I havent read the replies so get angry at me if you wish.
I think I've said this before but i dunno so w/e
In theory, the universe is to be a never ending cycle of big bang - big crunch (heat death) idfk i cant remember but something along those lines.
So technically when the universe reaches its end and stops expanding, it will collapse within itself starting over. So technically the UNIVERSE is not infinite. But the space around our universe is. Im not sure if theres a name for it but yeahh....space?
deathlord888

still space is never ending therefor infinite
and if it does callapse back in then it goes again so infinite again
it can never stop no matter how much it slows down so guess what?
infinite again
case closed

But it isnt the Universe. Its the space outside it.
But i guess your right, the process is infinite as far as we know so yeahh..
