So what? They're NOT Stone Sour. And it's not like this is the first time they've done slower songs/songs that don't sound like "typical" Slipknot. They've had that on about every CD. I personally like it when they do stuff that isn't like their usual work. It means they're willing to step outside of their boundaries and whatnot.


PS- I think they sound more like they're older stuff, not like Stone Sour. At all.

I've recently seen Joey Jordison's drum solo with the drum set flipping and such. I don't listen to much of their music but i think im ganna start. His solo made me respect em.

Even tho i think he uses a machine double bass to get it that fast. Who knows tho?

they don't suck, but the whole look they kinda got from mushroomhead, and a lot of their lyrics/ persona seems to be a shitty water downed american version of black metal.

their self titled album is decent, i've listened to some of their other shit and they're a solid metal band. the whole maggot thing pisses me off though, all you lil fucks who call yourselves that go eat shit and such like a maggot. you're all nonconformists just like everyone else...yay.

He's probably more of a, well, shitty recreation of Death Metal fan, it's pretty obvious on the new album, it's pretty sad they're trying to shoot for a genre that's becoming more popular, I still respect them as musicians, but I do not enjoy anything they've produced lately, they're selling out faster then hell now, if you want to go that route of arguing, with the huge surge in popularity of screamo, Deathcore coming to the fore front now, kids trying to be trve.

Did you ever think that maybe, just maybe, bands don't always keep their style 100% the same as before? Because that tends to happen quite a lot. Some bands become less "metal/hard rock" as their albums go on (Slipknot would be an example) and others get heavier the more they go on. I don't think they're selling out though. Hell, I'm glad they came out with this album. The first song I ever heard by Slipknot was Vermilion Pt 1 and I loved it. It had a rock sound to it, but the singer could actually fucking sing. Don't get me wrong, I love Slipknot's old stuff too, but sometimes I don't feel like listening to people scream at the top of their lungs. I do enjoy listening to people sing, those songs are usually the ones that have more meaning to me/impact me the hardest.

Long story short: Slipknot's not selling out. I think their new album rocks even if it's not the same old shit.

I just can't stand this new album, nothing sticks out on it, to me. All we've got is Psychosocial with that terribly bad chorus and drum fill, and All Hope is Gone with the DM imitating.
