Why Is This Here?

I was under the impression that this site was primarily for the purpose of informing users of new and wonderous methods of culture jamming and social activism. Since when does the title, "Anarchist Cookbook" become paired with "Dating And Relationships". And am I the only one that saw this and immediately thought that this site may be a joke?

Now don't get me wrong there is a lot of useful information on this forum, but this type of thing makes me think it's being run by a bunch of 16 year-old frustrated nerds taking the name of a very influential manual and using it to create a stir and vent about their high-school girl troubles.

But I could be wrong.

I like you man. No one else took my Culture Jamming Thread Seriously. Whatever, there's a lot of cool people on this site, but any socio-political connection with the word "Anarchy" and this site died long before i joined. I agree, this particular part of the site is dumb, thats why i don't take it at all seriously (the dating and relationships bit).

But seriously, don't blame the *****/mods, blame a thousand idiot kids who come and go from this site every year.

Thanks, and from what i've read of yours, you seem to be a pretty enlightened cat. And i am by no means blaming the mods for these topics, it's all about supply and demand. I do blame the kids who go through their high-school rebellious phase by wearing torn denim jackets and listening to the sex pistols screaming for anarchy. When they, and I, know that in two weeks they'll be happy jumping and singing along to the newest fad. I hope that people will see this and think alittle about their motivations for this.
And i'm glad to see someone else interested in jamming.

Well, i am a teenager, and i do listen to the Sex Pistols...... Don't worry, i'm not an Anarchist or an Antichrist..... I'm a Marxist! Meh, i'm not an idiot waving a hammer and sickle with no knowledge of what it has represented, or represents...... Whatever, i think Culture Jamming is an artform, disrupting the ignorant consumer culture in any way you can come with (well, without loss of life, i am a pacifist) is the truest form of contemporary Marxism in a western society.

You should try to get a hold of a couple of his books, mainly;
Culture Jam: How To Reverse America`s Suicidal Consumer Binge- And Why We Must.
Design Anarchy.
Both are brilliant examples of his grasp on the current state of society and his view of the future. If you can get a hold of Adbusters magazine, that would be cool too, he`s the founder, and editor-in-chief.
Grammar`s for pansies with degrees, real people spell the way they speak. Plus if I don`t understand i`ll just make fun of you for it.

Yeah, this site isn't about anarchy. It talks about anarchy sometimes, but really "The Anarchist's Cookbook" is just used as a name to bring people in. I mean, think about it, how many kids these days are going to google "anarchy" or "anarchists cookbook"? A ton, that's how many. And if you do google "Anarchists Cookbook," this site is like the 5th on the list.

So you`re just using the name as an excuse to get visits from kids interested in the idea of anarchy. Of course i`ve seen that this website is about anarchy sometimes, but i don`t think that the name has to be an excuse for people to rant about girls, that`s what dating forums are for. Hell i googled it and have got a few seemingly useful forums all about girls, women and all the in between.
But I suppose i`m just an idealist believing that Anarchy should be distinct from dating. But who knows, maybe kids these days have coupled the two in one hell of an odd relationship.

But i`m not here to argue with you or anybody about the merits of dating and relationships. i`m here for the anarchy stuff. i`m not arguing with this anymore.

Youd be suprised how many people actually have things they want to say about this topic.
This section may not be the coolest on the site,
but it is helpful, and fun.

Where else can you get advice on what to do when your chick is prego, when you cant pick up a chick and need help, or you just wanna shoot the shit about sex and exes that drive you nuts?
