This is a thread to see what you all think about two points of jesus, no not your gardener you rich fuck, the character in the bible. One is was he actually a real person, evidence i have seen points to no. The other is if he did live was he actually black?
One did he live?
No historian mentioned him not one. and their were allot of historians around his time.
Preacher just after he supposable lived did not believe he was real. They thought he was just a story to get believers, and many were ok with lying as long as it brought followers.
Two was he black?
He was born and grow up in the middle east which is not prominent for white people.
In one passage of the bible it says something like. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace.
So what do you think and what is your evidence? Did he live? Was he a white person?

The way I see it, I think he was probably a real person and he was "black" or whatever over there. I don't go along with the whole son-of-god thing though. I don't believe in religion.

First of all, he was middle-eastern. So he wouldn't be white, would he? And, as an addition, who cares?
Second, call me crazy, but I thought Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John were historians? Considering they wrote down their accounts in a book called (you may have heard of it) the Bible. It was exaggerated, yes, but it does describe the life of a man named Jesus of Nazareth.

i dont think you will find many people that dont believe there wasnt a man named jesus... and many scientest believe we have found the body of jesus... i am not religious what so ever and i think he was a real person... many think he was nothing more then a lunatic.... and as for his color.... i hate to sound like (sorry for lack of better term) a black man... but the white man has currupted his looks and turned him into some hobo looking junky from newyork

all the drawings of jesus came from europe during the middle ages and the renaissance. and probably before then as well. i reckons he was real, he was probably one of those real ***low pot-heads that preach love and caring

There are historical accounts, other than the bible, that show that Jesus of Nazareth was a real person. The thing was that back in that time there were hundreds of "Messiahs" in Jerusalem. It was more like Monty Python than the Passion of Christ. All the astrological aspects of the stories were not recorded by anyone. Also, there is no evidence that anyone has been crucified. And according to the bible it was common.

I believe that Jesus was indeed a real person who did "great" things while alive. I don't believe he did miracles in a god-like sense nor do I believe that he is the Son of God. I think rumors about him were spread and historians wrote down his exploits in an extre***y exaggerated sense.
Because of the area he was born in, I believe he was most definately arab (or black...argue whatever you want).

Yeah, Jesus was middle eastern.
And I agree with what you said. One HUGE reason that I believe that Jesus was a real person, yet he was not the messiah, is because there were a LOT of people in his time that were claiming to be the messiah.

I get angry when people don't read posts and just write the same thing, especially when its mine.
Anyways the whole idea of "white jesus" is simple. Think of who actually wrote the bible. It was "translated" by white people, and thus jesus became white. If it was first translated by a black person I do believe that jesus would be black. Same as with other cultures. The fact that he is white though is also a symbol for purity which could also be a reason he was "white". Personally I think it is funny that if you analyze the bible like you would a novel you see all the archetypes and symbols that just take out the crazy in it.
