The platform holder’s president Satoru Iwata has admitted that the firm is hard at work on a follow-up to the all-conquering, motion-sensing system.

However, Iwata added that current designs having to "be thoroughly vetted" before being ready for market.

He commented:

“The hardware team started work on the next thing as soon as they were done with their previous project, but what they think up doesn't necessarily become a product.

“We only turn something into a product after it's been thoroughly vetted inside the company.


We're not at a point where we can give specifics, but of course we're working on it.”

In the same interview with The Wall Street Journal, Iwata said that Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto had completed all of his stated creations for the console – and added that the retail price of Wii MotionPlus would be “very affordable”."

I've checked a few other sites and that's about the gist of it. So, opinions on the Wii 2 and if you're thinking of buying it, when it does come out, or not. And please post if you've heard anything else on the production of the system

I hate the concept of the Wii with the wavy controller doo-dads. But I don't ever plan on buying a Wii mostly because the games they currently have for it are all shite.

If I'm to buy a Wii 2 in the future there would have to be a very respectable array of games for me to chose from. It seems the Wii is more oriented for family fun. I need a console made for hardcore gaming with a lot of brutal games.

So basically if I would ever buy it, it would have to have no wavy controller doo-dad and it would have to have a bunch of games geared towards hardcore gamers.

I feel like I've repeated myself multiple times typing this but I'm too high to read through it and change it.

At least I realized the problem.

I think it would be awesome to customize it towards shooting games. They have the sports consol cover things that are just like plastic tennis rackets and bats that go over the controller, they need to create ones in different gun forms that will be able to push firing buttons when you pull the trigger. That would be awesome. And then have the arrow buttons and/or joystick on the back of the gun handle where your thumb would cover to control the direction and movement of the player.

I'd never buy a WII. I like some nintentdo games, but if I want them, I'll just go down the road and buy a Nintendo-64 for $40.

Yea Xbox sucks period. N64 still best game system ever. Family Fun is gay= Wii is gay.

Hey now, I like x-box, I'm a COD 4 fan haha :]
But for the family fun aspect of wii... I've just played with a few friends and I think only bowling. Nothing to major. It was okay but I'm hoping the Wii2 will me better with more intense games.
