Hey guys, I was just wondering wat everyone here keeps around for home security. What weapon: Gun, Knife, Taser, Impact Weapon??

Well personaly I keep my Remington 1100 12g behind my couch in my room but not loaded. I have a couple shells next to my TV.

I keep my Sprindfield XD Compact .45 acp on the shelf in my closet with the clip on the shelf in my tv stand.

I was thinking of investing in a Remington 870 12g pump also. It is a nice gun. Pump shotguns are probably the best home defense weapons around. A burgler heres that and they are out the fuckin second story window.

So I am set on home security. So wat do you have for Security??

your 14 stop talking so hardcore. you would curl up and cry in your room while daddy grabbed the gun and goes after the intruder.

My best weapon is my american bulldog, ruger, (is his name not the gun) i also have two smaller dogs that bark alot, just that deters a regular burglar, however we keep a loaded ruger sp 101 in 357 downstairs, and as well as a ruger 10/22 in my room with two 25 round magazines, a ruger gp security six in my dads room, and there is a colt 45, but my mom wont even let anyone touch that because she is in love with it

I am not trying to sound like a "hard ass" either, the only gun i purchased was the 10 22 which i gave my dad the money to get me, i keep a ka bar usmc knife under my bed but thats not really intended for defense

i have a little league aluminum baseball bat and whatever else i find in my house i feel like defending myself with. hooray.

Aluminum Baseball bat is probably the best home defense weapon you can own (if you can use it, ie not crippled or only 14 years old). Practically indestructible, balanced, inexpensive, and you don't have to worry about where the bullet goes if you miss. Noone wants to be on the evening news explaining why you shot the kid across the street because you missed the guy who stole your tv/toaster/porn collection.

note: Police academies teach a stick always beats a knife. Hence the use of batons instead of butterflies.

I do, I got a H&K USPc .45 loaded sitting on my nightstand and a Kimber 1911 cocked and locked and a 357 snubbie loaded up sitting right here next to me. I carry concealed everywhere I go so I leave them loaded. I only live with my girlfriend and she don't really like guns so she doesn't touch them.

I have a spiked club. It's somewhat medieval, but it would work, not to mention intimidate the hell out of whoever wants to rob my house. A baseball bat with nails would work just the same though.

I also have knives, but that doesn't seem as fun as a large spiked club.

Count Chocula

A bolt action rifle is terrible for home defence. Overpenetration, undermanuverability, slow follow up shot, and low mag capacity.

haha dude i don't blame you, if someone came flailing a spiked club at me, i would shit myself, exit the premises and probably consider that hitting rock bottom and find a job. :D

As for the bolt action, miight be overdoing it. But then again, if you live in the country it's quite useful. Plus you could just Stock butt 'em if they get too close.

...A WWII bringback PPSh-41 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PPSH-41)
I still have my grandfather's M1 Carbine and 1911, as well as a Nazi helmet with a .30 hole in it...allegedly from his Carbine although my grandfather was prone to exaggeration. I ran into some money trouble and had to sell it to my brother, who is holding it for me until I turn 21 and can buy it back. You have to be 21 to purchase transferable machineguns from a dealer but only 18 to inherit them. Anyways enough talk, this thread is about weapons porn!

Here it is with the drum mag in, and the mag release failing to lock in place :P quite a common error on the PPSh, or at least mine.

February 9th, 2009, 06:58 PM
oh holy shit man that is nice, hahaha. my step dad has an M1 carbine, it is pretty damn intense. haha damn that's awesome.

i also like the drum mag, very nice touch :)

and when you turn 21 good luck finding any ammo for the carbine, it's almost impossible to find. i know because my step dad has been looking for months.

lol nunchucks are prohibited weapons in canada , you get in about same trouble as having a full auto P90 with a high cap mag and AP rounds...

druggie is just as dead if you hide in an enclave behind a bedroom door and cave his skull in with a bat as if you use that beautiful piece of russian weaponry and mag dump into his chest. and the use of the bat is more easily defendable in court, especcially if the intruder is armed. i think being able to sneak up on an intruder who doesnt know your there is more important then being armed, atleast if you notice him first anyway.

And count chocula what do u mean by "chicken wing" it? im guessing u mean dont stick my arm up like i am in the pic? im not gonna make excuses, haha i shoot all guns like that and im not bad i wont lie. i shoot 12gauges like that in turkey shoots and auctually win stuff so thanks for the tip but i always have done that. i didnt even know it but it came in a hard black case and as soon as i opened it there were 5 fully loaded clips in there that hold 25 shots each. Does anyone know where i could buy a larger size like 50 shots mabey? and this could be a new thread but wth
What's you guy's favorite brand of ammo to use? I prefer Winchester lol not that i no anything about it thats what ive allways used. Also the ammo in the clips is from 1988 is it ok to shoot? i think my dad got this when he was a kid or something

Count Chocula
March 3rd, 2009, 10:23 PM
Chickenwinging spread the recoil out, when you tuck your arm in it's distributed and you can handle the recoil better. Pics of swat/military chickenwinging are posed, in real combat they push it it. Does wonders for target acquisition.

I just found out my dad owns a lot more guns than ive ever seen. He owns a pawn shop so he gets all kinds of guns and stuff hes got some kind of pistol thats a few thousand dollars b.c its got all kinds of scribwork and stuff on the sides and its in good condition so ill get u a pic of that. whats in the shell has nothing to do with 'magnum' magnum is another word for 10 gauge, which is just a 12 gauge shell 3.25 inches long. duck hunters use em cause they give you more room for shot. buckshot in a 2 inch shell is nothing compared to birdshot in a 3.25 inch shell. and sabots are far worse then buckshot, first time i shot a 10 gauge it was a friends over under, overpulled the trigger and fired both barrels at the same time, that was fun. my arm hurt for a damn week.

ahh...yes...

well, if my dog hasn't either humped their leg or licked their hand enough to kill them, then i would probobly use the scare tactic and start playing with a souveniere knife i have, because the handle is made from the foot or a fucking ostrich. i can try and get a pic up soon, but...yeah...

or my dad would shoot them with the .357 revolver or glock17 in his room ( you know, the ones we shelled out good money for home protection that we'll never use), but by the time i tried to get to them and unlock them, all my shit would be gone

Marcraft, you are fucked up like a soup sandwich. Magnum is NOT another word for 10 gauge, which is also NOT just a 12 gauge shell. Magnum has everything to do with what's in the shell.

10 Gauge is an actual size measurement that has is greater than 12 gauge. So it's a step up, but it's not some kind of weird similarity. Magnum means there's more powder packed into the casing, so this gives it more power.

Count Chocula...how did you break your wrist firing a 10 gauge with 3'1/2 shells? =S

Sawed off (legal NFA regged short barrel shotgun) side by side + 12 year old + both triggers at the same time + was used to 20 gauge shotgun and holding it as such=uncle laughing all the way to the emergency room.

It's been 8 years, it's damn funny now. I can shoot 10ga without crying.

Haha k, I gotta admit that is pretty funny.

I just wasn't sure if that was one of those "horrible instructor screw up" stories. Like a girl I know whose boyfriend taught her to hold the shotgun an inch or two in front of her shoulder when firing? She got bruises, etc and it was all some kind of funny thing to him. Thought it might've been one of those.

No this is an uncle to whom humor is more important than his nephew's well being story.

i hope when my great aunt dies she gives me some of her guns. She owns a pawnshop aside from the one my dad does and she has 2 secret rooms inside of her stock room that is home to over 300 guns every thing from sawed offs to full autos, glocks, desert eagles. Pretty much any gun you could think of she has. its pretty amazing. i know for a fact she has a .44 mag like in dirty harry i wanna shot it sooooooooo bad but she wont let me :(

I look through this thread and see so many things wrong with some of the people, first poster keeps a shot gun unloaded behind a couch? how fast do you think your going to load it full of shells and pump the action before the guys shoots you? and keeps a .45 near his tv stand without a magazine in it? how fast do you reckon youll get to that without being killed by the bg. Second, a .22 as a home defence weapon? i thought youd want something to atleast kill a guy, not just wound him, same with the .410 it wont kill some 1, it might hurt them abit, thats about it. and the guy who thinks a 300 win is a good home defence weapon is just a retard, you think you can hit the guy in the dark, iff you miss it will over penatrate and go through 3 walls and kill your neighbour, and you think you can shoot anything below 1km? like to see that!
