Teacher:
Among the people of your culture which want to destroy the world?
Student:
No-one specifically wants to destroy the world.
Teacher:
And yet you do destroy it, each of you contributes daily to the destruction of the world.
Student:
Yes that is so.
Teacher:
Why dont you stop?
Student:
Francly we dont know how.
Teacher:
Your captives to the civilizational system that compels you to go on destroying the world in order to live.
Student:
...yes, thats true.
(we see now that we are captives to our own society, we have no choice, we are constantly compelled to go on destroying the world in order to live effectively in present society.) -anyone care to debate this statement?

No debate here. All of us are captive to this land and it's leaders. We constantly destroy the planet regardless of our personal feelings. You wanna clean the air...that's great but you really gonna ride a bike everywhere? You wanna stop cutting down trees...that's great but you gonna stop building houses? See what i'm getting at?

yes. making the effort of changing the world is really not possible living in present day society. to change the world we have to change our whole mindset on how we should live, and how we should share the world with the animals and the enviorment. i think to save the world there is only one foolproof plan, destroy humanity. and that is never gonna happen so we might as well go on killing ourself, enslaving all the animals, drawing invisible lines on the earth, pollutting the air, and so-on...unless we right our mistakes. we may not notice it right now, but the earth has laws, and those laws are in effect right now, and unless we find a way to live in balance with those laws...we will soon see theyre deadly effect.

What about the Amish; they live completely detached form modern society, and they also live off the land only taking what they need to survive. They produce very little pollution and waste nothing, so they are making their little section of the world a better place--from an environmental standpoint.

but they can't affect change. only those living in our society can.
living kinda like the amnish but with the internet and a small use of electricity could work.
basically the main problem is there shouldn't be as many people as there are in the world living at one time. but i see the way our society is structured as contributing directly to its own decline or complete downfall. i also see some of that shit going down soon (and in some cases already).

Those people have found a way to live in balance with the land. but to "civilised" societys they are considered primitive in there way of life, living at the mercy of the earth. You see this kind of exploitation of these people all the time in the media talking about "3rd world countrys, and there primitive way of life." i agree wit deo that these people are making a little section of the world a better place, but unless "civilised" people living in todays modern society change there mindset on how they should live and still thrive they will continue to believe that the earth was made for them only, that the earth and all life was solely made to benifit the human race. for us to change our living habits to suit the earth that means we have to give up control of our own lives. we have to live off the land thus living at the mercy of the gods. but also living in balance with the planet.

Becoming amish may be a fun thought but in all honesty who's really gonna make that drastic of a change in lifestyle. Sure the Earth would be a much cleaner, wholesome place to live but i believe no one is gonna go for the amish plan.
crazyassmetalhead
August 1st, 2008, 02:12 PM
i could do the amish thing if i could grow my own drugs and shit, brew my own alcohol, have some use of electricity and have the internet (possibly satelitte tv or cable). if we could transistion back to smaller agricultural communities it'd be good for everyone. only problem is that a shitload of people would have to die, but i think that is gonna happen soon anyway. after that hopefully society rebuilds smarter and more eco friendly, but it'd be more out of nessesity than by choice at that point.

we needs a big ass plague to help reduce world populations. from a utilitarianst view, someone releasing a very deadly virus and the bejing olympics would be doing the world a favour by reducing the number of people who need food, electricity, petroluem and various other commodities that are in short supply.
i'm not saying we need to wipe out the chinese, its that there will be alot of people coming and going to and from there and it would help spread it worldwide.

Of course we are destroyin the world because human beings are parasites. And i agree with the only way to save the world is if humanity was destroyed. But since that seems quite unrealistic at the time, i think that if we could just let go of "greed in the name of love and caring" we could possibly get by like any other creature on earth.
Now what i mean by that is that we need to stop seeing that people dying from natural causes like cancer or other diseases is sad and wrong. And tryin to find cures and shit. Because it all comes down to that those things exsit for population control. If everyone could just fully except death and just let go of the fears then we'd be better off. It works for animals they dont even have the concept of "OH EM GE I AM GONNA DIE ONE DAY"
It's said in the fountianhead "men have been taught that thier first concern is to relieve the suffering of others. But suffering is a disease. Should one come upon it, one tries to give relief and assistance. To make that the highest test of virtue is to make suffering the most important part of life. Then man must wish to see others suffer- in order that he may be virtuous. Such is the nature of altruism...."
And i believe that. it be better for the world and our own beings to just let others die.

Unrealistic.....at the time.....O.o If humanity was destroyed it would not matter if the earth was a better place because there would be nobody left to enjoy it.
Now what i mean by that is that we need to stop seeing that people dying from natural causes like cancer or other diseases is sad and wrong. And tryin to find cures and shit. I agree that diseases are a form of population control, but we don't need to stop curing them. If we stopped trying to cure diseases at this point it would spell the end for mankind because diseases have become much stronger and more deadly in recent years. It is only natural for a species to try and sustain its existence by any means necessary; even animals search for plants to relieve there suffering when they get sick. Also, animals do indeed have a concept of what death is because when they feel their life is threatened they will do all they can to keep from dieing; their concept of death might not be on the level that ours is, but they know that it is something that they do not want to experience.

people need to ease back ith medical advances cos all we are doing is making pathogens stronger and more resilient. if we all just stood back and let nature run its course, the strong would survive and the week would fall. and as i said before, less people to feed, clothe, supply electricity, too, less people to consume petroleum products, etc.
also deo, haven't seen you in the pyro forum in a while. with ghost checking in less and less these days it's running rampant with foolish noobs and me and like 3 other guys are trying to maintain order. it'd be nice for you to pop in evey now and then to help lecture and correct the multiple retards.

yea deo i was think just with what numerator-91 said, if we stop with the cures for this and that the strong will survive not much but there will be those who are immune. its evolution Darwism will go into efffect. and the reason for dieases be as strong as they are now a days is because they have evolved into the super germs they are today.
Plus with the strong surviving and the weak dyin we would only pass on the good traits after a while filtering out all the bad junk we have no days. not to sound like a hitler simpithizer but if we just let nature run its course we could end up with a super human race.
then again i could be wrong and we all just die either way oh well we are all fucked.
but you made a good point with if we are all dead then we cant really be around to give a shit whats goin on with the world haha

i blame christianity partially, with their bullshit that all life is sacred. theres part of why the world is so overcrowded and filled with ignorant shitheads, that go forth and multiply shit just doesn't work. nazism kinda works in that respect, end the lives of those unfit to live so that the rest can live better. of course i'm not a big fan of fascism or socialism... but some quality control on humanity could help a lot.

One way or another a few humans will survive the next ice age..
they will be left in the same situation they was last time, but now they will have the choice of learning a different way to live..a way to avoid the mistake they made last time, and if they dont..then history will repeat itself till we get it right. Thats just one of my theorys though. we will continue to repeat the process untill we learn from our previous mistakes, either that or we will just die out, and another dominate life form will conquer the planet after us, either "After ICE AGE" theory suits just fine.

But if a natural calamity wiped the earth clean and the earth remained devoid of all life for thousands of years, and evolution ran its course and life once again thrived upon the world, then sooner or later a form of life would become dominant upon the earth, as we are now. I believe we are just the current dominant species inhabiting the earth. Such as the dinasaurs. And before them probally some other species, and before them another species, and before them another species, we are just the species that are currently dominating upon the earth. Soon the earth will undergo a massive ice-age or plague, and a species that has never existed before will come to dominate the earth as we are now. But hey thats just another theory.
