I'm either gonna have a friend buy some from there for me or continue to get shit at the flea market, where i bought the switchblade and the shitty butterfly knife, and my new impact baton (see "blunt force weapons" last page for pics since it's techically part of my collection now).

i have just recieved a new item for my collection and intend to make it the centre piece, it's an actual WWII bayonet that my grandfather left me in his will only having just died recently. i wish to clean and restore it but its got a fairly persistant layer of rust on the exposed metal surfaces. what i'm asking, is what is the safest and most effective way to clean the metal without dammaging the blade or the wooden handle. the screws can be replaced if neccesary but i would rather leave it whole

I don't have any pictures up yet but my current collection includes:
Marine issue Ka-bar
Vietcong Khukri (original not replica)
WWI trench knife with brass knuckles
American Tomahawk (vietnam marine style)
12 various style shruikens
8 various balanced throwing knives
3in and 4in boot knives one with boot sheath and one with shoulder sheath
Straight blade katana with back scabbard
Wakizashi, Katana, and Tachi swords emerald green sheaths
drop point hip blade
gerber machete with saw blade on back side
23 various folding pocket knives
deer rib handle filet knife
multiple flint and shaped stone homemade blades with "natural twine" handles
100lb pull crossbow with bolts with various tips

i prefer the silence and personal attention of blades rather than the loud bang of a gun. something about the sound a person makes and the expression on their face as they have a blade sever their ligaments and tendons just gives a rush that a gun could never bring

numerator, if the rust is not heavily caked on, i left one of my blades on a tuppaware of wd 40 one night, then got steel wool and rubbed off a great deal of rust, if they do not have wd 40 where you live try straight up 3 in 1 oil, of course keep the wooden handle from soaking it up

Edit: this may not remove it all but it helped me a great deal and did not damage to the blade

hey ninja, is that axe/hammer/pry bar tool any good? i saw something similar or the same thing for about $3 at a flea market...

the pry bar axe hammer thing is ok. the axe isnt too sharp, but it works. and the hammer and pry bar thing both work. its prolly worth the 3 dollars, mine was 5 haha. and the other hatchet was 5 dollars, but is waaay higher quality.

nice collection. those budk throwers? looks like the dual blades gottheir emblem too

yes. the throwers are budk, the dual blades and the tai chi sword are all budk. the throwers work pretty well for being from such a shitty company, and the dual blades and tai chi sword are pieces of shit. like with the dual blades the tip is fuckin sharp, but if i were to stab someone i'm sure the whole blade would stay in them. its not very sturdily in the handle. the winchester bowie i got for like 25 and is one of my favorite knives, i got that mutherfucker SHARP. the machette lookin one is the SOG jungle primative, ran be about 40. the folder with the kickass camo on the blade is a SOG Trident, and ran me like 70 or 80 or something because its cryogenically treated and is spring assisted. the smaller winchester fixed blade is full tang and ran me like 15, a good price. sturdy knife. then theres a remmington folder that ran me like 20 i think. and that tiny ass black bladed worn black handle knife is a gerber and also ran me like 20. i guess i dont mind cause its sturdy as a motherfuck for being a linerlock and so small.

thanks for mentioning the budk and not the SOGs..... (sarcasm) haha

would anyone recommend getting a SOG SEAL pup Elite? i'm tempted but they are like 60 or 70 or something

crazyassmetalhead
August 24th, 2008, 06:34 PM
i can get one for $50, so shop around.... i think they're kinda small, depends what u want it for i guess. but sog makes good shit, haven't bought anything from them yet but i'm considering the bigger seal knife (i think it's just called the seal).

next expensive knife i'm gonna get will probably be an all black kabar clip point or a buck special.

hunter2011
August 24th, 2008, 08:07 PM
yes, my friend has one and it is awsome, the blade stays fairly sharp, but is much harder to sharpen.

Look into getting a KA BAR like the ones in my pic, they are a softer metal, but can be sharpened very easily, so i think it is worth it, also they are used by the military also and have a great rep, plus they can be bought for around 30 bucks at the right place

when it comes to knifes you get what you pay for, for the most part

i looked it up and came across some other forum. i think they said its a less quality chinese steel, i dont think bad, but not as good as AUS 8, which is what my trident is. i was thinking maybe the SEAL pup, but its only AUS 6. does AUS 6 have any significant disadvantages compared to AUS 8? i looked it up and found that it wasnt as hard, but from a practical standpoint i dont know if that is a pro or con

after doing a bit more research numerator, it appears that 8Cr13MoV is similar in properties to AUS 8

um, all around use? cutting branches, rope, string, boxes, stripping wire? its probably not gonna be used for flesh, cause i cant really hunt (no guns) and dont plan on stabbing anyone, and i'm sure that if i do any knife would work.

what hardness would you recommend for that type of all around use?

I wouldn't really try to pull out two at a time. The Glock is the primary, it comes out first if some shit goes down. And hopefully that's all I would need. But, I mean, you really never know what can happen. So in case something goes wrong, or I run out of ammo,
I got the Sig on back up. It's a good rule to live by. If you're gonna carry, make sure you have the tools to get out of any situation.

OK because I didn't know about the spoon rule and because my little soul stealing box's sd card is currently missing. I'm currently not able to retake the pictures with the spoon in it (hense the reason I added a spoon into the picture). But since their sitting on the box that my moms computer came in and your getting a good look at the dryer....im pretty sure its easy to tell those pics didn't come off the internet.

In the second picture the small camo knife next to the hatchet is a knife lighter that I got from a truck stop in Alabama for about $5 and it works pretty well. Not shown in the pics because their over at a friends house either getting resharpened or repaired is a small dagger matching the golden handled one, a pocket knife with robert e lee and I think the confederate president (can't think of his name), and a black katana. Also I have a question about the sword in picture 2. It came with a sheath for it, but the idiot who stitched it together accidently stiched the part that locks the sword in place and loops onto your belt backwards. Does anyone know of a good place that would be able to either repair it our make a new sheath for it.

but parents unfortunately didn't approve of the purchase and my dad took it and hide it somewhere ($8 of my money so i'm kinda pissed)
i did have the foresight to keep quiet about the brass knuckles i got for like $7 (had the machete tucked in my shorts on the side and was not gonna say anything, but then i realized "how the fuck am i gonna sit in the car or walk around in sam's club with this shit?")

so i'll get a pic of the knuckles up asap (the other thing is way fucking cooler though, might just sell the brass knuckles cause i got them so cheap)

Numerator why do you become such an asshole when the subject is on a gun? Is it because of the law differences in Australia?
Here in the U.S. you can possess a gun at 16 years old. You can also smith your own. I'm not sure but I think I've heard that Australia has a Zero Tolerance policy on weapons. I don't know, could you explain?

Guys, as many of you know I like my handguns but I was starting to feel like I needed a better (bigger) HD weapon. So I decided on a Pardner Protector 12 gauge pump. Basically the same gun as Remington 870 Express except it's made in China. That made about a $75 price difference. Got mine for $170 and a free box of 2-3/4s. Not bad. 5+1 in the chamber. Shoots 2-3/4" - 3" shells.
Here's the spread -

So yeah, I haven't shot it yet. Gotta get to the range soon. Next up my list of firearms purchases is the one I've been waiting for. My DPMS Panther Lite 16". Badass AR-15 for $725 list price. All the reviews I've read were good. I'll post the pics when I get it.
Here's a shot I found online of the kit you get with it. Pretty sweet!

Not a Colt or a Bushmaster, but also 300-500 bones cheaper. And I gotta get it before Barack goes into office. Although with that being said, I'm still voting for him, because I don't let small issues get in the way of the big picture. But that's for another section. :)

Actually I'm pretty sure pardners are made by New England Firearms. What configuration are you planning on using that in (as in pistol grip or standard stock, shell length and type) for home defense?

That's right, NEF. This gun however is made in China. Says so right on the side. Google Pardener Protector and you can see for yourself. But as for the config, Federal Tactical 00 buckshot 2-3/4" shells, and I'm gonna keep the standard stock until I find a nice pistol grip with a folding stock. Probably get a light, too. Maybe a laser. Definitely a mag extension and maybe another recoil pad. First thing I get will probably be a shotshell holder.

Count Chocula
November 13th, 2008, 06:55 PM
Techtiger: The ATF could probably charge you with constructive possession just for having a M11/9 pistol and a stock, even with the rifle upper.

techtiger
November 13th, 2008, 07:38 PM
as for what is shown in the picture everything is legal. they cant do shit. those internals only allow semi auto firing. I have not said if i have the fully auto ones or not. It is legal to own a fully auto gun with the right paper work, i just want to point that out, and since it is finding fully auto internals is fairly easy to find and not to expensive. However i have not said that i own them so they cant do shit.

Count Chocula
November 13th, 2008, 07:42 PM
the ATF can charge you for constructive possession of a short barreled rifle. sometimes people who own both an AR pistol and an AR rifle, and have a spare stock for the AR rifle will be charges for SBR poss. for having both the pistol and stock. you most likely wont get charged anyways it's not such a huge deal. but just thought I'd point it out since you posted these pics on the internet.

techtiger
November 13th, 2008, 07:53 PM
no because it shoots a 9mm round it is not a rifle, it is a pistol.

Count Chocula

You're preaching to the choir. ATF is fags. but seriously, they can arrest you for that. search Short Barreled Rifle on google.

techtiger

after looking into it, i can have both. if i have the stock on the long barrel must be with it. i can't have the pistol barrel and the stock at the same time

not to mention it perfectly fine to own if you fill out the right paper work and pay the 200 dollar fine.

Count Chocula

superflysuperwhite

i collect guns. most of my guns dont serve a real use. for example the one in my avatar is a colt auto 32, wich is the same model that bonnie used to break clyde out of jail and the capone carried in his jacket.
and to own a fully automatic you need a class 3. to own what is shown in the picture, im not sure about in all the states, but in wisconsin you dont need anything. (well technecally you need to pay a fee and get a general thing to own a SBR short barreled riffle)
However you do not need a class 3 to buy the parts to make that gun fully auto ;)

I might be wrong, but I've read that an RPAL isn't too hard to obtain. And besides that, if you really want a gun, move to America. Preferably a southern state. I got my first .410 from the old man when I was 12. And it was a hell of a lot cheaper than your airguns.
