decent comp. prank

I read this prank on some website once and i thought it was kinda funny, though you have to be physically at someone's computer.

OK, this isn't a bad prank, pretty PG.
Basically just:

1. Take a screenshot of their desktop.
2. Set it as their background.
3. Right click desktop for properties, and uncheck 'display icons'
4. Right click taskbar for properties, and check 'auto hide taskbar'

At this point it should look like their desktop only they can't click anything, so it appears frozen. funny-ish

I also suggest:

5. Unplug keyboard/mouse/speakers
6. Delete desktop icons/ hide them in random hidden folder
7. Change their homepage to a gay porn site lol
8. whatever

just do little things like move and rename all their files and documents or rearange all the keys on the keyboard.
however if you really wanna fuck with 'em just take a magnet to the hardrive and watch as the rage takes over after they realise all they have now is an expensive paperweight.

that thing with the magnet... not very likely to work. hard drives have some of the most powerful rare-earth magnets in the world built right into them, in very.. very close proximity to the disks.

and, btw, if you really wanna be a jerk just delete their system32 folder. the computer can still boot and everything... you'll just be rather limited in what you can do.. unless you're decent in the cmd.

what i did was change the images of the desktop files and renamed them not that great but takes a while to change back

what if you mix matched all the icons of their desktop?
like not just mixed them up, thats stupid and gay, i mean like swap the Firefox icon with the photoshop icon, so the wrong program opens

if you know how to use cmd you can put a timed shutdown that they can't stop unless they know how to abort it
it doesn't do anything bad its just annoying

that was fucking awesome when i saw it on Engadget. made me actually think for a second.. then i read that it was fake and was horrid depressed about the whole thing. Why _cant_ a Mac virus be that fun?

Well, my buddies and I put a clear piece of tape under my teacher's (and the mouse of a select few douche bags) mouse so the cursor wouldn't move when you use the mouse, and they stayed there moving the mouse around going, "it's not working! It's not working!" and the teacher kept asking, "does anybody else have this problem?" finally they figured it out, but 1/3 the class was over before someone figured it out

me and a buddy were acting up in class one time, and it was a day to go to computer lab, so the teacher sat between us so we wouldn't talk. But she's really fat so she walked slow, lol, and we got to the lab way before her, and we switched my friends mouse with her mouse and her mouse with my friends. So when she FINALLY got in, she turned her computer back on, and moved the mouse to the sign in bar, so my friend made it ACTUALLY go to the sign in bar and she clicked it and signed in. Then when she got to the desktop, my friend moved the mouse around reaaaaaallly slowly so she thought it was frozen or something. So she turned the computer off and back on, signed in, and my friend did the same thing. so she went to the room across the hall to get the tech support guy, and we switched it back to normal. Then we she got back she looked like a fat idiot cuz it worked now, lol

Find a start up manager program and set some of the programs as gay porn pictures and lots of them so they open every time they log on. Then they have a minor annoyance and something they might not want to see

I have a friend who could make a person cry at their computer.

our school computers have a safety system, like most schools. you cant really edit things, or download anything. he didnt like that.

he made a code that would shut down the computer and couldnt be canceled, then he made an icon for it that looked exactly like internet explorer and put it on every computer in the school...It was funny for a couple days until everyone figured out what was happening, then the teachers just got pissed off and no one was allowed to use the computers for like 2 months.

I cant remember the code, I had it saved somewhere. If I find it i'll post it.

This I worked on more and its more believable. Its just a simple batch program that I made that opens a shit load of notepads. I've sent to one of my friends it worked their computer froze and I loled.:D . Wouldn't suggesting opening on your own computer.

I'll put a tutorial up on how to make this later.

But one of the things I did to someone I know when they weren't at their house... Someone posted the BME pain Olympics a while ago, and it was www.<URL here>.WMV for the URL. I went on the person's computer and changed their homepage to that .WMV link, so every time he clicked his internet browser icon, Windows Media Player popped up with BME pain Olympics. No here's how you really mess with someone. Save a picture of something that you know will really piss the person off and alter it as much as you want in paint. Hide the icons and taskbar and set that as their desk top and printscreen that picture to paint. Now save this picture on a flashdrive or floppy disk for mobile useage. When your on the computer use wish to pwn set that picture as their background and print screen again. Save that picture and set it as their screensaver. Change their keyboard settings to dvorak and lock the computer and take the mouse. Now on the lock screen let it set until the screensaver comes up and when they hook up a new mouse and try to get back on they still won't be able to get into the comp because of the keyboard settings.

An added bonus if you like to further the fun after they somehow manage to get back in. Is making mutiple copies of the icons when you do your printscreen so that they'll show up but won't be able to be clicked. On the later nvedia cards you can also enter the card settings and mess with the color schemes....or turn the screen upside down.

As for the shutting down icons.....i think its just some code that you put in the target line of the icon properities....a friend showed me that but I don't remember it.

Yes yes I saw what other people posted, but I added some extra details to the prank to make it more powerful. Such as placeing the pic on a flash drive so that its mobile plus it takes less time to pull off the prank, stealing the mouse so they have to bring in a new one which increase the length of it, suggesting dvorak, and locking the computer.

A side note on locking the computer though, make sure that the computer is xp. Cause if you lock a vista computer it takes it to the login in screen and you can't see the edited background.
