Just wondering what you fucker's take on texting a girl 'goodnight' is.

I will have to say that the only logical answer is that it's thoughtful to text a girl goodnight, seeing as you have to be thinking of her in order to text her goodnight. I myself do often text my girl goodnight, but I prefer to tell her face-to-face because it's not as impersonal.

well, actually It depends. I agree with what Deo said (I didn't think of that 'til I read his post). You do have to be thinking about her, in order to text her goodnight... but why text? why not just call (since you're using a phone anyways), talk for a little while, and then say g'night? The only reason I would text to tell a girlfriend "goodnight" would be if it was my only option at the time or the only way I could do it quickly (if I didn't have time), otherwise I'd call or something like that.
Face-to-face would be best though, but not everyone can always be face-to-face with their girlfriend just to say goodnight...

It's really the only thing I can do. Calling isnt out of the question, but it's usually just more convenient to text. (also, this isnt my girlfriend.. )

idk. i think a phone call is better than a text, because then I can actually hear his voice. texting is thoughtful, but to me, a phone call, or even face to face is the better choice.

I pretty much agree with everyone else...Calling and/or face to face is better, but that's not the question is it? If you have any reason to believe or think in the slightest she might be get annoyed by you texting her goodnight, then your instinct is probably right....ESPECIALLY if your not her real b/f....Because usually b/f's kinda know if some stupid shit like that is going on...So she probably has to erase the history n' shit.....Yeah, prolly just be better off trying to call her mang....But i'm not the chick or a chick for that matter, so who am I to try and answer your question?

I should probably update this. So yeah, I've stopped talking to her in any way shape or form, I try to disavow knowledge of her existence, and her boyfriend seems to have some sort of vendetta against me involving the immediate murder of me.

She texted me one night, saying that she 'needed someone to talk to' and that her 'boyfriend had cheated' on her. So i obliged and called her at some ungodly hour of the night. I didn't know however, that her boyfriend was still there... and that he was being psychotic. I got as far as saying, 'hey, whats up?' before he wrestled her for the phone.

A short conversation with this crazed jackass ensued. he said that he 'has boys' and that he has 'guns' and that he 'knows where i live' and that he's going to 'shoot' me.

I told him to bring it.

So I haven't talked to either of them since, and it's been about a week.

...anyway to answer the question i would agree with a lot of people in the thought that its thoughtful but its much better to call or say it face-to-face. if texting is your only option its better than nothing but if you have the time, a call is just as easy, and a better way to talk than through a text.

Why text? If you want to let her know that you're interested just send her flowers. By far that is the #1 method to get her to respond especially if she's not your woman. Works for me! :-)

long story short - her boyfriend isolates her from everyone and would probably hit her if he heard her talking on the phone to another guy. And flowers would just be a bad idea. I got her something for her birthday (a blender, for when she goes off to college)... last thing im buying anyone for a long time...

texting is GOOD cuz when you call her you'll be talking for hours, and the whole idea was to say goodnight wasn't it? short and sweet. i find when i call my girl (everyfucking day sometimes more than once) my ear, arm, neck, back, and voicebox start hurtin after the 5 minute mark. im a dude i like talking to people on the phone for minimal time segments. plus if im on the phone im inside and im not allowed to smoke instide and im a fucking heavy smoker goddamit. so i tell her to call me back in ten minutes. this is all just some crazy fucking circle man we are all going to die!!!!
