how to: get a plastic tube, cut off match heads, and pack it tightly, make sure the container is sealed tightly, get a hole out of one end, and stick a fuse in it, light it and get back!

dude this shit dosent work unless you do what firetime said but thats just a waste of fuckin matches and time. i spent about an hour cuttin matches up just to fill some pill bottle id much rather just go to indiana(sp?) and buy some m100s.when i tryed to lite this with the match all it did was ***t all the plastic and get the match head things all over the place.

you guys are wrong, the author is too, i make firecracker from matcheads, the author is a retard, they cant be packed tightley, they have to be 75% full, and they have to be loose.

Match heads can be made to explode. The trick is strong confinement and not to mush them together too tightly, as above. The flame needs open space to propogate from match head to match head in the mass; Without this you get something that operates more as a rocket engine than an explosive.

You have inspired me to find a fast way to do get just powder off matche heads.

I did

First i got 750 wooden safty matches red ones for 2.50. I put em in a 1000 ml beaker and poured boiling water over them. let em sit willing stirring every once in a while. Strained out the sticks. Left with a blood red liquid. Filtered it 3 times to remove sulphur and binders. Now you have a solution of antimony sulphide potassium chlorate dye and a little sulpher. Placed the liquid in a big glass microwave tray and evaporate. once it evaporated i powder it its a bright red pwder did a burn test burned similar to flash powder with more residue.
